Regensia’s Joshua Foss was invited to present at the inaugural Circular Economy 100 (CE100) USA Acceleration Workshop in New York City on September 14th. Officially launched in March, the CE100 USA network builds on the tremendous success of the international CE100 program established by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation in 2013, which has brought together leading companies, emerging innovators, and regions to accelerate the transition to a circular economy.
Speaking within a line-up of distinguished presenters from organizations including Google, Arup, and the Closed Loop Fund, Foss introduced Regensia’s turnkey approach to regenerative community assessment, planning, and development, and illustrated the imperative to look beyond incremental goals and industry-siloed approaches. He articulated how holistic and net positive methodologies are required to address an arguably failing infrastructure business model in the US, where mounting challenges – e.g. aging systems, growing demand, funding gaps, sunk costs – threaten to undermine community development and future prosperity.
To illustrate the value of its turnkey restorative approach, Joshua introduced a case study from Central SoMa district in San Francisco that featured performance benchmarking, assessment, and customized integrated grid modeling.
